Join the Campaign*

Joining the HEAL Campaign is free and easy. Cities or towns in Maryland and Virginia can join the Campaign by passing a HEAL resolution. Municipalities are encouraged to modify their resolution based on local needs and feasible policy actions.

*Update: As of February 2020, the HEAL Cities and Towns Campaign is not currently accepting new members. Please check back soon for further information and updates.  

Steps to become a HEAL member:

Step 1: Contact the HEAL Campaign to discuss opportunities for your city to join.

Step 2: Assess existing policies related to healthy eating, active living, and workplace wellness.

Step 3: Download a sample HEAL resolution and work with the Campaign staff to draft a resolution for your city or town, and tailor the language in your resolution to the unique needs of your community.

Step 4: Work with Campaign staff to develop a strategy for bringing the resolution or policy to your city council. Invite HEAL staff to answer questions from council members.

Step 5: Pass your HEAL resolution and share the news.
